I have observed much commentary over the last few days regarding Syrian refugees. The church is divided on this. Mature, seasoned believers are coming in on both sides of this issue. For some, compassion trumps wisdom, while for others it’s the other way around. As usual, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. We are to be gentle as doves yet wise as serpents.
May we pray for the wisdom and discernment to know where to extend compassion and where to exercise wisdom. It is not one or the other. It is both. The mature Bride of Christ will see and understand this and act accordingly. There are no easy answers or quick fix solutions for what we are facing as a nation and as the Body of Christ. The solutions will ONLY be found in the secret place (the war room) where strategies are revealed and victories are secured. If we will only remain close to Him and LISTEN.
Compassion and wisdom do not have to collide. They are designed to work together. As are we.
